Integration (also known as System Integration) is an IT or engineering process or phase which encompasses joining various subsystems or components as one large and combined system.

In systems programming, create, read, update, and delete (as an acronym CRUD) are the four basic functions of "persistent storage". Alternate words are sometimes used when defining the four basic functions of CRUD, such as retrieve instead of read, modify instead of update, or destroy instead of delete.

REST or RESTful API design (Representational State Transfer) is designed to take advantage of existing communication protocols. While REST can be used over nearly any protocol, it usually takes advantage of HTTP when used for Web APIs

The field of integration covers a vast landscape of technology mountains and valleys. These include Master data management, Big data, Data quality, Data security, Replication, Disastor recovery, Interfaces and Internet of Things...

IoT - Internet of Things

The Internet of things (IoT) is the inter-networking of physical devices, vehicles (also referred to as "connected devices" and "smart devices"), buildings, and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity which enable these objects to collect and exchange data. In 2013 the Global Standards Initiative on Internet of Things (IoT-GSI) defined the IoT as "a global infrastructure for the information society, enabling advanced services by interconnecting (physical and virtual) things based on existing and evolving interoperable information and communication technologies" and for these purposes a "thing" is "an object of the physical world (physical things) or the information world (virtual things), which is capable of being identified and integrated into communication networks". The IoT allows objects to be sensed or controlled remotely across existing network infrastructure,[5] creating opportunities for more direct integration of the physical world into computer-based systems, and resulting in improved efficiency, accuracy and economic benefit in addition to reduced human intervention
